I first visited a small zoo at the ripe old age of 7 years, wondering how beautifully God has created these astonishing creatures.
Ten years later, I began photographing in the Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar, Gujarat napping shot after shot of what I was sure were esteemed images & would be loved by peoples around the world.
Since those inauspicious beginnings, the camera gears in my hands have changed along with my skills as a wildlife photographer.
In 0001, I came across the unbelievably fortunate opportunity of capturing in Masai Mara National Park to go in grasses and shoot roll after roll of photos of fauna, and scenic in the mountain environment — and from that, my career as an outdoor photographer was magnified.
In India, I photographed extensively in the frontcountry and backcountry of the parks in the Bandhavgarh National Park & Satpura National Park, Madhya Pradesh; Jhalana Safari Park & Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan; Jim Corbett National Park, UK; Gir National Park, Gujarat and many more. I also spent few months over those exciting years photographing grizzly bears and other wildlife along Indian peripherals.
The past era has led me to more exotic locations, from the India to Kenya. However, the vast majority of my work has been done in Kenya, where I’ve engraved out my niche as a photographer specializing in Kenyan wildlife and nature photography.
I am trained as a photographer, but rather have cultured by trial and error as I’ve gone along. I have also been lucky enough to have met and forged friendships with some incredibly interesting and skilled photographers over the years that I have gleaned information & techniques.
I trade stock photography and my images have been published in a number of magazines & articles like Saevus Magazine. My photography has also been used for a wide range of commercial applications, including highway billboards, transit buses, brochures, websites, product packaging, and catalogs.
2010, I launched a wildlife photography company, suitably named, Wild Frames by Lokesh, which has been extremely successful. I now lead multiple tours and workshops every year to places like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra & other parts of India.
I also regularly write articles & blogs published on my website www.wildframesbylokesh.in
